The Country Roads Band originated in Crete, Illinois in 1981, and have been Southern Rockin' ever since.
Country Roads Band has built a strong following with tremendous national and local exposure, along with extensive ties to the top country radio station US99. In 1985, this group of veterans toured as the backing band for National Country Artist Freddy Fender. Throughout the 1980's and 90's, Country Roads Band opened several shows for David Allen Coe and also served as the backing band for the late great US99 DJ John "Katman" Katzback. Over this period, they sold over 50,000 CDs until the Katman's unfortunate death in 1994.
In 2003, Country Roads added seasoned veteran Bernie Glim to the group. Bernie brings a storied musical history, playing with legends such as Englebert Humperdink, Ray Price and Michael Twitty. The union of these veterans has translated into increased attendance at shows, a vast repertoire of music and thousands of shows experience as both a headliner and opener for top National Acts.
